Who Should Not Take Actonel?

You should not take Actonel if you:
 
  • Are allergic to Actonel, risedronate, or any inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
     
  • Have low blood calcium (hypocalcemia).
     
  • Cannot sit or stand upright for 30 minutes (which is necessary in order to take Actonel).
