Boniva® is an osteoporosis medication that is prescribed for postmenopausal women. It works by binding to certain cells in the bones, which helps to reduce bone loss. Boniva is available in both tablet and injectable form, and can be taken either daily or once a month. Side effects that have been reported with Boniva include diarrhea, indigestion or heartburn, and arm or leg pain.
