Boniva® is a prescription drug that is used for treating and preventing osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. It has been shown to reduce vertebral fractures and increase bone mineral density in the hip and spine. Boniva comes in both tablet and injectable form, and can be taken daily or monthly. Possible side effects include arm or leg pain, diarrhea, and indigestion or heartburn.
