Evista® (raloxifene hydrochloride) is a medication licensed to prevent and treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. It can also be used to reduce the risk of breast cancer in postmenopausal women who are at high risk for the condition or who have osteoporosis. Evista belongs to a class of drugs called selective estrogen receptor modulators, which have both estrogen-like effects (to strengthen bones) and anti-estrogen effects (to prevent breast cancer). The drug is available by prescription and comes in tablet form.
