Evista Drug Interactions

If certain medications are combined with Evista, drug interactions may occur. These interactions can increase the risk of side effects or make Evista less effective. Medications that can cause Evista drug interactions include bile-acid sequestrants, estrogen medications, thyroid medications, and warfarin. Evista^® (raloxifene hydrochloride) can potentially interact with a number of other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to Evista drug interactions include:

Bile-acid sequestrant cholesterol medications, such as:
- Cholestyramine (Prevalite^®, Questran^®, Questran^® Light)
- Colesevelam (WelChol^®)
- Colestipol (Colestid^®)

Diazepam (Valium^®, Diastat^®)
Estrogen medications, including many oral contraceptives (birth control pills) and hormone replacement therapies
Thyroid medications, such as:
- Liothyronine (Cytomel^®)
- Liotrix (Thyrolar^®)
- Levothyroxine (Levoxyl^®, Synthroid^®, Unithroid^®)
- Thyroid (Armor^® Thyroid, Nature-Throid^®)
