When bisphosphonates are taken with Miacalcin nasal spray, drug interactions could potentially occur. Studies show that people who have taken a bisphosphonate in the past did not respond to the drug as well as they should. Since there may be other Miacalcin nasal spray drug interactions that are not known at this time, tell your healthcare provider about all the medications you are taking.
Miacalcin® nasal spray (calcitonin salmon nasal spray) can potentially interact with a few different medications. In particular, bisphosphonates can lead to Miacalcin nasal spray drug interactions. Examples of bisphosphonates include:
- Alendronate (Fosamax®, Fosamax Plus D™)
- Ibandronate (Boniva®)
- Etidronate (Didronel®)
- Pamidronate (Aredia®)
- Risedronate (Actonel®, Actonel With Calcium®)
- Risedronate delayed-release (Atelvia™)
- Tiludronate (Skelid®)
- Zoledronic acid (Reclast®, Zometa®).
