Your healthcare provider should store Prolia in the refrigerator, although the medication may be allowed to reach room temperature before injection (room-temperature injections are usually more comfortable than refrigerated ones). Once the medication is removed from the refrigerator, it must be used within 14 days or discarded.
What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose?
If you do not take your Prolia as planned (every six months), contact your healthcare provider as soon as possible to schedule another dose.
Prolia is available in one strength -- Prolia 60 mg per mL. It comes in 1-mL single-use prefilled syringes or in 1-mL single-use vials. The prefilled syringes are convenient but contain dry natural latex rubber in the syringe cap (which can be a problem for people allergic to latex).
Can I Buy Generic Prolia?
At this time, Prolia is not available in generic form (see Generic Prolia).
