Generic Miacalcin Nasal Spray

Miacalcin® nasal spray (calcitonin salmon nasal spray) is an osteoporosis medication available by prescription only. It is a synthetic version of calcitonin, a hormone that helps regulate bone formation and breakdown.
 
Brand-name Miacalcin nasal spray is made by Novartis Pharmaceuticals. At this time, a generic version of Miacalcin nasal spray is also available.
 
Currently, generic Miacalcin nasal spray (sold under the name "Calcitonin-Salmon nasal spray") is made by the following companies:
 
  • Apotex Corporation
  • MDRNA.

 

It is available in a 3.7 mL bottle, containing at least 30 sprays, with 200 IU (international units) per spray.
