Binosto Drug Information

When used for treating osteoporosis, BinostoTM (alendronate effervescent tablet) works to slow down the rate of bone breakdown by binding to certain parts of the bone and blocking the activity of cells that are responsible for breaking it down. As a result, this medication can help treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and increase bone mass in men with this condition.

Binosto comes as a tablet that is dissolved in water and swallowed once a week. Some people who use this medicine may experience side effects, such as nausea, heartburn, and joint pain.

Although this drug may help in osteoporosis treatment, not everyone can use it. Information on Binosto should be discussed with your healthcare provider to minimize your risk for certain complications. For instance, people who have problems with their kidneys or esophagus may not be able to safely use this medicine.
