Osteopetrosis

Were you looking for information about Osteoporosis? Osteopetrosis is a common misspelling of osteoporosis.

Age, smoking, alcohol abuse, and certain medications may increase your risk of developing osteoporosis. This bone disease results when bone is lost faster than the body can replace it, causing bones to become brittle and more susceptible to fracture. Most fractures due to osteoporosis occur in the hip, spine, and wrist. This disease can be prevented and treated by eating a proper diet, exercising, and using certain medications.
